Why Pineapple is a Symbol of Hospitality ?

SHISHI'S ARTICLE 01
We all love to have a sip of this beautiful fruit juice in a hot summer breeze! personally, I love its combination in a classical cocktail name PINA COLADA.

But apart from these refreshing cocktail stories, this fruit is also famous as a symbol of the hospitality industry.

Come let's find out why this fruit is a welcoming symbol for Hotels.
HISTORY
According to historians, this fruit was originated in Brazil and Paraguay in South America.
Discovered first by the Europeans in 1493 on the Caribbean Island now known as Guadeloupe later
pineapples arrived in the Caribbean after Centuries of Indian Migration and Commerce.

It was Christopher Columbus who brought this fruit into the soils of Europe, Many attempts were made to cultivate this sweet, prized fruits in the ground of Europe until they realized they need a tropical climate to flourish.

Fresh, Dried, Candied and Jellied were the major attractions of the community's appetite and dining practices, the Pineapple was the true celebrity.
Its rarity, expense, reputation, and striking visual attractiveness made it the ultimate exotic fruit.

Soon the pineapple was crowned the most important feast: often held aloft on special pedestals as the pinnacle of the table's central food mound.

SHIPPING

The Shipping of this exotic fruit was also a difficult task as the wooden ship journey in the tropics was hot, humid, and slow, often rotting pineapples cargoes before they could be landed.

SYMBOL (Reason)

The dining room doors in that era were kept closed to the visitors' suspense about the table being readied on the other side. At the right moment with the maximum amount of Pomp and Drama, the doors were flung open to reveal the evening's main event.

Visitors Confronted with pineapple topped food displays felt particularly honored by a hostess who obviously spared no expense to ensure her guest's dining pleasure.

In this manner, The Fruit which was the visual keystone of the feast naturally came to symbolize the high spirits of the social events themselves, the image of the pineapple became the sense of welcome, good cheer, human warmth and family affection to such gatherings.
